Urban Gardening Seminar - First Day

The seminar started on Monday 25. April as intended with a guided tour around the school area.

After a short lunch break and a warm welcome by the representative school leader, the seminar continued with an introduction to the aspects and basic principals of urban gardening.

After a short discussion the participants were introduced to the socio-economic importance of urban gardening in the world. This interesting presentation regarding the global perspective of urban gardening was given by Dr. Michael Fendt.

Since 2011 a urban gardening network exists in Munich. You can find more information about the network on this homepage (unfortunatly only in german):

We are also planning to visit one part of this urban gardening network on Thursday. It is a community garden placed in the middle of the town with a wild variety of urban gardening concepts.
